Award-winning Iranian feature film ‘Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness’ is set to screen at cinemas across Spain.

The announced date for the festival is April 15-23 and ‘Yalda, A Night for Forgiveness’ will take part at its main competition section.

The Avalon Film Production Company in Netherlands is in charge of international release of the movie.

The flick, produced by ifilm star Ali Mosaffa, follows the story of a young Iranian woman sentenced to death and seeking to obtain forgiveness from her accusers via a popular reality TV show.

The film has gone on screen at a number of global events and grabbed a number of awards, including the Grand Jury Award at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival in the US and a Special Mention for best screenplay at the Sofia International Film Festival in Bulgaria.

‘Yalda’ gained high revenues by screening at German movie theaters. It was also shown at Le Louxor Cinema in Paris, France, on September 10-October 7, 2020.
